Selective Admissions Guidelines

  1. Application for admission according to established KCTCS and college guidelines;
  2. Documented attendance at one pre-admission conference during the school year prior to admission;
  3. Letter of intent to the Program Director;
  4. Official transcripts of previous postsecondary education; and
  5. Submission of documentation indicating that minimum admission requirements have been met to enter BIO 137*, MT 110**, and ENG 101*** or documentation of successful completion of these courses.

    ( *Prerequisites for BIO 137: COMPASS scores of at least 81 in reading, 70 in writing, and 30 in algebra OR completion of RDG 030, ENC 091, and MT 065 or equivalent.)
    ( **Prerequisites for MT 110: COMPASS scores of at least 30 in algebra OR completion of MT 065 or equivalent.)
    ( ***Prerequisites for ENG 101: COMPASS scores of at least 70 in writing OR completion of ENC 091 or equivalent.)

Should it become necessary to limit enrollment in the Respiratory Care Program, the System Guidelines will be followed and preference may be given to:

  1. Those who have completed 12 or more credit hours of college work with a GPA of 2.5 or better;
  2. Students who have completed each biological science requirement with a grade of B or above.
