West Kentucky Community and Technical College - Mission Statement

West Kentucky Community and Technical College is an educational institution that provides excellence in teaching and learning, promotes student success, and supports economic development.

To fulfill its mission, the college has adopted five institutional goals to coincide with the KCTCS goals.

Dental Assisting Program
West Kentucky Community and Technical College

MISSION STATEMENT: The Dental Assisting Program prepares the student to function effectively as an integral member of the dental health team and to perform chairside assisting and related office and laboratory procedures under the direction and supervision of a dentist.

Henderson Community College - Mission Statement

  • Provide general education curriculum for the first two years of a baccalaureate program (Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees).
  • Offer career-oriented programs to prepare students for immediate technical or paraprofessional employment (Certifications, Diplomas, or Associate in Applied Science degrees).
  • Provide continuing education, adult education, and customized training opportunities for the general public, area employers and the local workforce.

Dental Hygiene Program
Henderson Community College

The mission of the Dental Hygiene Program is to prepare the graduates to:

  1. Procedure and maintain employment as a dental hygienist in private and/or group practices, federal, state, or local government clinics, and facilities in the armed forces.
  2. Be proficient and skilled in current concepts of dental hygiene.
  3. Be competent in administrative functions and dental specialties as performed in a general/specialized practice.
  4. Work as team member with the dentist identifying and defining the dental hygienist's role in the dental office practice.
  5. Provide scientific knowledge in the performance of dental hygiene procedures.
  6. Pass the State and national examination procedures required for licensing for dental hygienists.
