 West Kentucky Community & Technical College offers an Esthetician certificate
designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills
required to pass state licensing examinations. This certificate
option provides 1000 training in professional services in
order to give students a thorough understanding of both
theory, students in the classrooms, and all pertinent subjects.
Esthetician students provide a variety of services in today's
salons and spas including facials, waxing, and dermaplaning.
Students give mask packs and senum treatments, and shape
eyebrows, tint eyebrows and provide retail skin care and
makeup products. They may also perform general duties such
as making appointments, cleaning the lab and equipment,
and steilizing equipment.
At WKCTC, Esthetician students receive classroom theory
and hands-on experience in the laboratory area. Upon successful
completion of the prescribed requirements for this certificate,
the graduate is prepared to take the Estetician Examinations.
